A well dressed Malaysian: Tunku Abdul Rahman

Tuanku Abdul Rahman....and Tunku Abdul Rahman. Both in Baju Melayu. Note the correct sleeve lengths (for a Baju Melayu) and the way the kain samping is worn (one just at the knee, one below the knee) -thestar.com.my

Really dressing well in the tropics. Cream or white coloured linen? suit. In Taiping, Perak. And do take note of the Spectator / Corespondent shoes. - Image from Relichunter272 blogspot

Tunku in London, in a gentlemen's Morning Suit - or the most formal dress during the day. Sitting to the right is the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Gilbert Inglefield. - Image from relichunter272 blogspot

John and Olive Diefenbaker with Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, his wife (Puan Sharifa Roziah), and Chief Protocol Officer Inche Jamal bin Abdul Latif (on far right),leaving state banquet, Kuala Lumpur. Tunku and Mr Diefenbaker in white tie, or full evening dress. You almost do not see this sort of traditional Western style dress formality in Kuala Lumpur these days. But do note the Baju Melayu (in black) is very relevant. - Image University of Saskatchewan, University Archives & Special Collections

From left to right: Tan Sri Tengku Abdul Hamid Jumat, Mr David Marshall, Tun Sir Tan Cheng Lock, YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Alhaj - Note the suits. Tan Sri Tengku Abdul Hamid in what looks like a broad lapel two button single breasted suit. Mr David Marshall in a Bush or Safari Jacket without matching trousers. Tun Sir Tan Cheng Lock in a lightweight double breasted suit. Tunku in a Baju Melayu. All acceptable levels of business and formal attire during the day. - Image from mca.org.my

Tunku and Mr Lee. Tunku buttons his suit correctly. And is the dandy of the two. - Image Thestraitstimes
