I usually do not cover fashion, but I do like to promote topics that help local industries that do include menswear (even though I am more of a traditional menswear enthusiast and not into couture).
Aman Central has been organising the Kedah Fashion Week for a good 10 years. This10th anniversary of what they have called the Kedah Fashion Week 2025 began as an ambitious vision has now reshaped the heart of Alor Setar and something the folks up north can look forward to, if they are into fashion and whatever that surrounds it (It does pretty quiet up there you know).
Over the past decade, Aman Central has sparked an urban renaissance. It has drawn international brands, nurtured homegrown entrepreneurs, inspired the rise of boutique hotels and new businesses, and helped redefine Alor Setar as a vibrant modern city. Through every fashion show, festive celebration, arti nstallation and community initiative, Aman Central has become a landmark that belongs to its people. It is a space where the spirit of Kedah is expressed with pride and where new stories continue to unfold. Personally, if you let the current state government do things, nothing much will happen. Take a good example of how Langkawi has been in the last decade compared to the early 2000s, you will understand.
Anyway, this 10th anniversary marks a reflection of how vision, purpose and resilience can transforma place and shape the cultural life of a region. That spirit will be celebrated this August with Kedah Fashion Week 2025. Taking place from August 1 to 3, this year’s edition carries the theme "Diamond," a symbol of strength, brilliance and timeless beauty. Like a diamond shaped through time and pressure, both Aman Central and Kedah Fashion Week have evolved through the years. What began as a bold idea has evolved into one of the region’s celebrated platforms for fashion, art, and creative expression. Today, Kedah Fashion Week is a cultural movement that empowers local voices, elevates Northern Malaysia’s creative standing and inspires a new generation to dream beyond boundaries.
A JOURNEY ROOTED IN COMMUNITY PRIDE

One such story is Lokalteez, a Penang-based label that made its debut at KFW 2023 and soon transitioned into a permanent retail presence at Aman Central. A special Evolut10n showcase will mark the anniversary, while Aman Central’s retail partners, including HLA, New Era, Tomei, D’yana, Elrah Exclusive, Eco Optic, Babyshop, and Watsons, will present creative runway pieces that blur the lines between lifestyle and couture.
As Kedah Fashion Week 2025 approaches, the event serves as a testament to everything Aman Central has achieved over the past decade. Kedah Fashion Week 2025 lights up the runway with royal glamour and star-studded appearances.
