Shoe tips: Why you should not wear really generic, cheap shoes...and photos of some decent ones

If you want to go out and buy cheap mens shoes the first thing you should know is that you shouldn't. If you still do, make sure that they are made out of leather. These last a whole lot longer than synthetic stuff. But that being said, I once experimented on buying those cheap leather shoes from BATA and even with stuffing in shoe trees and regular polishing the leather gave way after about two years or so. The over processed and stretched too thin leather could not take the usual twice a week usage I put them through. Then the heel was also plastic instead of impact absorbing stacked leather or wood. There was a lot wrong with it except the style of the shoe. It was an ordinary looking brown cap toe derby.

So if you buy cheap shoes, be prepared to replace them often as the leather is thin and looks overprocessed and plasticky looking leather (especially in black), and even if you do buy cheap shoes, do not buy the ones you see in here. Firstly, everyone wears them and secondly, any upturned toe shoe does not look good. There should be minimal or no space between the front of the shoe and the ground it rests on.

You should get something along the lines of what is pictured here. They are in some ways traditional lace-ups and monkstraps but with a more modern, chisel toe style. Very modern. These were some of the shoes I wore over the past week or so as pictured on my instagram. Notice that there is no sign of an upward turned toe in the shoes pictured below. And would they not add to the total look of one's outfit if one did so?

Invest in some proper looking shoes as well as shoes shoes that use proper materials too. They last a long time and you may save money in the long run.
